Working with Ailya Vajid

Salaam! My name is Ailya. I have served as a chaplain, providing spiritual counseling and care for twelve years at various educational institutions and in communities.

The heart of chaplaincy and healing work for me is walking alongside someone on their journey of self knowledge and growth, supporting and accompanying them through life’s challenges and joys, and helping them discover the tools for healing, wholeness, and peace that ultimately lie within themselves.

In our time together, we will journey towards self understanding, heart presence, healing, and growth through compassionate, love and mercy-focused, non-judgemental spiritual counseling, breathwork, somatics, and meditation.

We can also support your journey to the One Beloved Allah, whether you are in a strained or struggling place with Allah, seeking to deepen your relationship, or starting from scratch in getting to know Allah. This is a space to bring yourself exactly as you are, and together we can be present with all that is in this moment, and move towards what you are seeking.

I have a Master’s in Theological Studies (focused in Islamic Studies) from Harvard Divinity School, where I completed my chaplaincy training, and I have studied various holistic healing modalities, learning from both Muslim practitioners and therapists grounded in somatic approaches.

Discover purpose and learning rooted in our pain, challenges, and suffering– not to disregard or spiritually bypass the pain, but by being present to it and  allowing the feelings, emotions, and sensations to come forth. Only then can we begin to process and learn from the wound where the light enters and seek what Allah might be bringing us through this trial.
